It’s taken me a little time to get this wedding blog post online. But without any further ado, this post is about Sarah and Daniel’s Gunners Barracks wedding in Mosman.
I have photographed numerous weddings at Gunners Barracks, and each wedding is memorable because of the venue’s fantastic location; situated just under George’s Heights lookout with spectacular harbour and city views.
During the morning, daniel got ready at home with his best man. After capturing some quick detail frames, and enjoying a lovely pour-over over coffee (a favourite of Dan’s) I made my way to Sarah’s preparation. Sarah and her maid of honour were having a hair and makeup session at a lovely residence in Mosman. The house was very photogenic and I probably spent too much time shooting detail frames of Sarah’s wedding gown in different rooms – what can I say, the backdrops were great! Before the ceremony, I captured some additional frames of Daniel and his closest family.
Their Ceremony
Their wedding ceremony in the Gunners Barracks courtyard was wonderful. They made some lovely choices with regards to floral arrangements and place settings for the evening reception, so it was important to capture those in photographs.
After celebrating their nuptials, we cracked open the champagne whilst taking portrait photos in the garden out the front of Gunners Barracks. We captured some group portraits and took a stroll up to Georges Heights as the sun set beyond the CBD. We were gifted some lovely afternoon light; warm but clean. We didn’t spend too long shooting; I’d estimate about 45 minutes in total, but just enough to capture a good amount of variety in photographs.
A Beautiful Gunners Barracks Reception
Sarah and Daniel’s Gunners Barracks wedding reception was wonderful. Beautifully styled by the couple, the venue was a fantastic background for some speeches from loved ones. As this was a COVID-19 wedding, there was no dance floor. Instead, I played their first dance track on my iPhone whilst Sarah and Daniel had a little time alone in the courtyard, dancing away. We captured some nice shots under the fairy lights.
