To those looking for a wedding venue high above the Sydney hustle; with great views, award-winning food and service, that isn’t too large – I’d recommend you look into an Altitude Restaurant wedding at The Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney. I had been here once before for a function – lunch in Altitude followed by a few drinks in Blu Bar (also on level 36 of the Shangri-La Hotel). It turns out, Scott proposed to Joanneh at Altitude – Scott reserved the best seat in the house and asked the question after an evening out together. It seemed fitting that we returned to Altitude Restaurant for their wedding in late 2017.
Jo and Scott’s Altitude Restaurant wedding was lovely. It was also a two-part day (more on that below). Both Scott and Jo got ready for the day at the Shangri-La Hotel. Scott, with his family over from Perth and Scotland, prepared in one of the conference rooms. The boys, in traditional Scottish fashion, kilted up for the day. They held their ceremony on level 36, and after their nuptials, it was straight into a lovely lunch reception. After listening to speeches and an outstanding meal (check out the shots below – the desserts were amazing!) I ducked out with them to explore The Rocks area, and take a few portraits.
Part-two of their wedding immediately kicked off on our return to their wedding at Altitude Restaurant. Back up on level 36, in Blu Bar, the couple held an awesome evening cocktail reception. A few more guests rocked up for the party. And the Scottish crowd party hard!
A wedding at Altitude Restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, was a great choice. Altitude is award-winning (the recipient of Three Chef Hats in 2016) and has probably the best wedding venue views of Sydney Harbour.
